1959 Galaxie
"Teenage Dream"     1959 Galaxie 500  Warren H.Wikoff warrenh777@prodigy.net of  Kintnersville, Pennsylvania still owns his "Teenage Dream".

Just found your site the other day, great site. I have attached a picture of my 59 ford 2dr Galaxie hardtop. the two of us have been together a long time, January 2002 will be 40 years. When purchased it had only16,000 miles on it, came with a 292 V8,2 speed automatic. Well, being a young man....by 1964 it had (and still has) a 1963 406 cu.in.FE engine, 3 speed overdrive trans. and 4.86 Detroit locker rearend. The car has not been out in the rain since 1964, has no rust and about 80% of the original paint. Since the picture was taken, I put wide whitewalls back on and the original hubcaps. This way I can take her to cruise nights and old car shows. I love to tell people I still have my teenage hot rod.  Warren H.Wikoff, Kintnersville, Pennsylvania

My hat goes off to you Warren!.............for succeeding in what all of us wanted to do!

GREAT STORY!!

59 Galaxie

"1959 Galaxie 500"

My ol bud from Minneapolis, Chuck Murray murry@bevcomm.net finally has this one "on the road"

 Linden,  We finally got the Red and White '59 out of the Body Shop and got the chrome and inside door panels put back on.   Took it for a cruise tonight.  I did take a few pictures this morning in the driveway. The car is really sharp.  My Body Man did a great job. She is currently over at Hi-Way FORD Lincoln/Mercury for engine work. More seriously all the "sheet metal" was removed, sand blasted and repainted. Air cleaner, Front Cover,  Fan Blade and Pulleys. as well as misc. mounting brackets etc. The engine has been degreased,  pressure washed and painted as well in its entirety. All the soft plugs have been replaced and a "new"  Timing Chain and gears installed. New Spark Plugs installed as well.  This one has the 352 4 Barrel.  New exhaust with glass packs.

atta boy Chuck........sounds to me like the boys at "Hi-Way Ford" are havin fun and doin a great job on the '59!

"1959 Ford Galaxie Town Sedan"

This sweet fordor is the sister of the wagon above. Randy, our local Mr. 59 Ford used to have this car in his fleet of '59's. She is now the property of Kevin Torrance of Winnipeg. Kevin truly has a passionate love for these cars too, which is only fitting as this car has had lots of that in it's past. It features a 332-2V, Cruis-O-Matic, dual exhaust and a set of new wide whites. This car see's allot of local cruising and is in good hands. Kevin wants to someday replace it w/a two door hardtop.

Find one soon Kevin, as I want to buy this car as my driver!

Tony Bible mailto:tbible@usit.netof Greeneville Tennessee sent us this Beauty Queen;
This is my ’59 Galaxie 4 dr hdtp. The car has a 352-4V, Cruise-o-matic, p.s., tilt seat, electric wipers, windshield washer, Polaire A/C, padded visors, rocker moldings, stainless skirts, flying eclipse hood ornament, sun-ray wheel covers, radio, bumper guards and hooded fender mirrors. I bought the car in Middlesboro KY. In ’92 as a parts car and ended up doing a frame off on it! The car is driven almost daily. I’m also in the process of re-finishing a ’59 six passenger wagon, a ’59 2 dr. hdtp. and a ’59 Edsel wagon. Thanks for a chance to show off my toys. I love your site especially enjoyed the red and white Meteor.
Beautiful Car Tony!…….love the background.

Steve Borkowski steve_borkowski@worldnet.att.net of Round Rock Texas is the proud new owner of this little beauty;
Well, I've been looking at this site for quite a while. I've decided that the Fords were about the best looking cars available in the 50s. That being said, I went on a quest to obtain my own. After about a month of searching I found my car. This particular Ford, I call 'Farley' has only 84,000 original miles! Somewhere along the way, Farley lost his 352fe, power brakes, and 3-speed manual on the column. Not to worry, Farley did receive a 390 FE,and A/C. Farley's been upgraded to elec. ign., Accel coil, Dominator manifold, Holley carb,and dual exhaust. I'm looking to put in a hotter cam, port the heads, and upgrade the cooling system. The car still won't be a real hot rod, but it will run much more efficiently. 59Ford.com turned me on to the Fairlane! Once you've owned a '50s Ford, you'll never drive a Chevy again!

Jay Evans from Sante Fe, Texas sends us this dream story;
This is my 1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxy 500, the car was just recently purchased and is all original with only 37,000 documented miles. Along with the car I received a folder that contained every receipt for anything that has ever been done to the car including receipts for every year it was registered. It also has the original window sticker, original title, and also the original application for title which shows that the lady that purchased the car paid $3258.50 for the car in April of 1959. The original owner kept the car until 1988, from 1973 until 1988 the car was kept in storage and very seldom driven. It was sold in 1988 to a gentleman that got the car back in shape, he had it repainted from the original color which was white to the color that it is today. He sold the car in 1997 due to an illness to a couple that I purchsed the car from.
Great Story Jay...........Look After The Old Girl.

Kimmo Kampinnen mailto:kimmo.kamppinen@lut.fiof Vehkalahti, Finland sends us his former American Beauty Queen from Overseas.
I own this 59 Fairlane 500 Galaxie 2 D HT. It is equipped with 352 and Cruise-o-Matic, power steering, fender skirts, padded dash and electric wipers. It also has a radio and a clock. My car has been imported from Arizona to Finland in 1990 and I have owned it since 1993. During the restoration we removed all of the old paintworks and painted the car in Volkswagen`s Sky Blue and Volvo`s California White. Tones are little bit stronger than the original Azure Blue and Colonial White. Briefly I can say that every part that had been removed from the car is cleaned, painted, polished or what ever it needed to restore it. It sounds here very easy but it took us for almost three years to finish it. Despite the short driving seasons here in Finland (April to September) I have driven with my car about 10000 miles after the restoration and enjoyed every moment. There is not so many 59 Fords in Finland. I know only 2 Skyliners and probably here isn`t even a single Sunliner in our country. Well, here was a little story about my car and Finnish 59 Fords. I really hope my english is well enough that you understand my expressions. Keep up the great sites!
Your English is just fine Kimmo, Thanks for the nice car and great story!
