1959 Ranchero

ya gotta love this story!

Hello Linden... First off, thank you for accepting my membership @ your web site. Now a little about me. My name is Tom Graham and i live in the state of Nebraska. Here is my story of how it came about me owning this 59 Ranchero. Once a upon a time not long ago. I decided that i wanted to find me a old vehicle to restore. Now I've always been a Chevy man growing up, and was looking to find me and old El Camino at the time of this discovery. The thanks goes out to my younger brother. Who was just out joy riding in the countryside one day. When he noticed a old V.W. along side a farmers drive. Well my brother had owed a couple bugs. So he stopped to take a look at this old car. Then a elderly woman came out of the farm house and shouted at him that car isn't for sell. Well my brother began talking with this lady, and told her that he was just looking. She began telling my brother that the old V.W. was once the family dog house, but Rover had done passed on years ago. She went on saying how they use to decorate the car every holiday for the dog. Well it being October she had kept the tradition alive. You got it... Halloween theme with pumpkins, bats, and cats. Rover would have been proud of his pad. Well moving on... She finally asked my brother if he was looking for a vehicle to buy?, and told him to go out to the farm shed. Here sat this 1959 Ranchero. It once belong to her husband who had done passed away ten years earlier. He was the second owner of the vehicle. Later that day my brother ran into me and asked how my El Camino search was coming. I told him i had just looked at a pair of really rough  pair 65's. He said to me... I think you better come see what i found. Now my brother has always' been a Ford man. From Mustangs, pickups, and his current 64 Galaxie he's restoring. Which was another country find of his. Well we went back out to the farm too look at his discovery. He now proudly boast how he converted me from Chevy to Ford. The End. My 59 in the picture is stock and looks just how it was found other than the wheels and tires, It was a turn key after sitting 10 yrs. It has the 223cu. with the three speed overdrive tranny. The vehicle had only been repainted once, and is now in need of some minor body work and  paint. Well this is the story for this 1959 Ranchero. Tom

Thanks Tom........great car.....great story!
